The sculpture Folia is inspired by plant foliage—the movement of leaves generated by the wind. We use a clean technique, subjecting the pieces to tension with ropes. The natural quality of the material gives the sensation that the piece is an organism in motion.

We decided to create this sculpture after several trips to botanical gardens. We wanted to evoke the movement of leaves. At first, I intended to imitate a palm, but then the shape evolved into a simple leaf form, arranged on a rectilinear surface.
